The National Interschools Brigade Movement recently installed its First Patron and Honorary Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency Ambassador Wallace W. Williams. The ceremony was held on May 16, 2015 at the Holy Trinity High School. Over 200 members from the National Interschool Brigade were on hand to witness this historic event.
The Ministry of Youth and Culture was represented at the event by Miss Michele Small Bartley, Senior Director - Youth and Adolescents Policy Division. Also in attendance were Rear Admiral N.P Agulor - Commandant for the Nigeria National Defense College, Mrs. Tanya Merrick-Powell - Interim Chairman of the NIB Movement, Mr. Kevin Marsh - Chief Brigade Commander and Founder, Colonel Oral Khan - Chairman of the Joint Uniformed Group Secretariat of Jamaica, and Colonel McKoy - Commanding Officer of the Royal Missionary Cadet Corp. Members of the Jamaica 4-H Clubs were also present.
Fifty-four members of the NIB formed a Guard of Honor (GoH) to receive the Guest of Honour - Ambassador Wallace W. Williams. Mrs. Small-Bartley, representing the Minister of Youth and Culture was invited to review the GoH after receiving the General Salute. Ambassador Wallace Williams and Rear Admiral NP Agulor were the recipients of a Sword Salute.The National Interschools Brigade Movement extends gratitude to all who made this event a success. Special thanks were extended by the NIB to Assistant Brigade Commander Ramon Williamson - Chairman of the Planning Committee, and Deputy Brigade Commander Rev. Leonardo Thompson.
