Apply for IDB Young Professionals Programme

The Young Professionals Program (SRP) is a starting point for a career in the Inter-American Development Bank. The program is designed for young professionals exceptionally qualified and motivated.

The IDB seeks candidates with expertise in areas that will support our corporate priorities: social policy for equity and productivity, infrastructure and institutions to promote growth, competitiveness and social welfare, international competitive integration, regional and global food security through environment, climate change and renewable energy.

Participants who are selected for the program are offered a 24 month contract with the Bank and are treated as staff members in good standing and that at any moment may be invited to fill a permanent position regularly. Young professionals can also be assigned to work in a country office, as part of the program.

All applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Being a citizen of an IDB member countries ;
  • Having 32 years of age or younger computed at 1 January of the year of application;
  • Fluency in English and Spanish , with a working knowledge of a third official language of the Bank (French or Portuguese);
  • Have obtained a masters degree, degree or equivalentede an accredited university at the time you submit your application (your degree must have been already awarded);
  • Having two years of professional experience in the areas related to the Bank, and
  • Be free of any military obligation for the duration of the program.
