How to become a Member of the National Youth Parliament of Jamaica (NYPJ)
The Process:
Applications for the NYPJ open each year during Youth Month after the official sitting held on the second Monday of November.
Interested youth may apply using the online application form that will be shared with partners, stakeholders and youth via e-mail, here on www.youthjamaica.com and on Official Programme Instagram accounts @nationalyouthparliamntja and @youthjamaica.
Eligibility
· Applicants must be between the ages of 15 to 27
· Must be an active member of a youth club/organisation
· Must be a Jamaican citizen
Must commit to attend and/or participate in the following:
· Introductory Training January
· Mandatory 3 day Residential Workshop Sept./Oct.
· Parliamentary Procedures - Review and Mock Sitting November
· Sitting of the National Youth Parliament Second Monday of Nov.
· Ongoing Work on Parliamentary Motions Jan. – Nov.
· County Training Sessions and County Project planning Feb. – Sept.
Persons who have previously participated in the NYPJ are NOT eligible to participate in any future Youth Parliament Sittings.
Selection:
The National Youth Parliament programme receives in excess of 500 applications each year and selects approximately 100 youth.
Successful applicants will be contacted directly by the MOEYI.
Selected applicants who do not fulfil the programme and training requirements will not be invited to the sitting of the Youth Parliament.

Deadline will be specified on the application form (The MOEYI reserves the right to close applications early based on the number of applications received)
