Competitions
There are a number of local and international competitions that YOUth can enter. These include essay competitions, poster competitions, film, photography and many more! Below is a listing of these opportunities. Click on the links for more detailed information on each of these.
Local Competitions
- JADCO Poster Competition: Secondary school students across Jamaica! Show your creativity and design an eye-catching poster under the theme: No Dope to Cope. Win up to JA$30,000. Deadline for submissions is January 20, 2017. More info.
- Access to Information National High School Essay Competition: The Access to Information Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister invites high school students in Jamaica to participate in its annual National High School Essay Competition. Win up to JA$50,000. Deadline for submissions is January 31, 2017. More info.
- Office of the Contractor General Jingle Competition: Submit a jingle under the theme: The Fight Against Corruption Begins With You. The deadline for submissions is February 24, 2017. More info.
- Earth Day 2017 Competition: Submit individual entries in either the Literary Arts (formerly essay), Poster and Photography categories, under the theme: Sustainable Tourism for Development. The deadline for submissions is March 10, 2017. More info.
International Competitions
- Commonwealth Youth Council Poetry Competition: To commemorate World Braille Day, the Commonwealth Youth Council launches “Unseen & Unspoken.” This is a segment of creative expression of the #iamABLE campaign through the art of poetry. The theme of the competition is “My disability does not define me". The deadline for submissions is May 31, 2017 at 1700 GMT. More info.
