MYIC Hops Across Manchester for Easter Treat

Children and young people across Jamaica and particularly in Manchester, look forward to the Easter holidays for varied reasons; lots of bun and cheese, a break from a stressful school term, time with family, among others. For many in state care, while they recognise with the festivities of bun and cheese they are also aware of the reason for the season “the death and resurrection Jesus Christ”. With the hope of giving some of these wards hope for Easters to come, the Manchester Youth Information Centre (MYIC) team hopped across the parish of Manchester for what has become their annual week long Easter Bunny Hop Treat. Read More

Childrens' Fusion: Run From Trouble

Children’s Fusion held Friday May 29, 2015 is a symposium in commemoration of Child’s Month embracing the National theme “Children’s Safety & Security-Our Priority”.

This social intervention was geared towards empowering and educating our parents and youth on various topics such as: Aggressive & Violent Behavior, Petty Larceny, Bleaching, Inappropriate Sexual Conduct, Sexual Exploitation, Sex & Sexuality, Child Labour, Human Trafficking and Sexual Harassment in the School Environment. Read More

Cross Keys Community Tour

Several agencies filled the Cross Keys High School Auditorium on Friday June 26, 2015 for the Cross Keys DA Community Tour: “No Limits to Empowerment”. The School welcomed the idea to host the tour on its grounds as it would not only cater to the wider community members but would be a direct catalyst for their students to access the information and services being offered by the various agencies. Read More
