Nageorgia Campbell
My inspiration comes from Phillipians 4:13; I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
Nageorgeia Campbell, Youth Empowerment Officer for St. Ann at the Marcus Garvey Youth Innovation Centre. I am a proud Pelican, (past student of the University of the West Indies- Mona) – having graduated with a BSc. in Social Work (Special).
Key Initiatives:
Prior to working at the MoEYI, I would have been involved in youth development through volunteerism; which includes serving as a Youth Mentor with Called to Lead Jamaica, a non-profit youth-led organization since 2017.
This facilitated mentorship of ‘at risk’ high school students; as well as being vastly involved at the community level, being impactful and creating change.
Since joining the team as a Youth Empowerment Officer, I have participated in, and led a number of youth development initiatives. These include:
-
Youth Month 2020 (Around the Table Talk Discussion – that facilitated empowered through knowledge of Entrepreneurship)
-
Capacity Building and Training Workshops (which includes collaboration with Heart NSTA Trust) A series of Empowerment Sessions geared at youth development.
Key Areas of Interest in Youth Development:
- Youth Participation/Involvement
- Youth Empowerment; Mentoring and Self-Awareness/Development
- Leadership & Capacity Building/
- Education and Training
Message to Youth:
“Believe in yourself and your own abilities; you can do anything you want to do; through planning, perseverance and commitment. – Remembering: I (you) can do ALL things through Christ who gives me (you) strength!”
