NOMINATIONS OPEN - National Youth Council of Jamaica Elections

Nominations are now being accepted for the election of suitable candidates to fill vacant positions on the National Youth Council of Jamaica (NYCJ).


The deadline for submission of nominations is October 31, 2018


The Ministry of Education, Youth and Information through its Youth and Adolescents Policy Division, will be facilitating the hosting of the Annual General Meeting and Elections of the National Youth Council of Jamaica (NYCJ), on Saturday, November 17, 2017.

The hosting of the elections form part of the Division’s effort to revitalize and strengthen Youth Clubs, which forms the general membership of the NYCJ. The YAPD seeks to ensure the sustainability of clubs at the community, parish and national levels, through robust technical and financial support and an efficient governance structure and system. 

The last election for the Council was held in November 2013 and the last Annual General Meeting was held last year. The hosting of the AGM and Elections are major calendared activities for Youth Month 2018.
