Santana Morris: Jamaica Youth Ambassador - UN General Assembly

Santana MorrisSantana Morris has distinguished herself as a resilient young lady with a strong sense of purpose and integrity. This is evident in her academic achievements; having earned a Diploma in Education at Shortwood Teachers' College; a Bachelor's Degree with honours in Education and recently a Master's Degree in Management from the University of Technology.

An astute strategist and philanthropist, Santana conceptualized the Jamaica Intensive Reading Clinic where she serves as Executive Director. With special interest in literacy, Santana contributed to literacy development through two annual one week literacy camp that benefited over 2500 students with over 800 volunteers including 300 teachers, college and university students.

She currently serves as a member of the International Literacy Association, ambassador at the World Literacy Foundation, Special Project Director at the Book Industry Association of Jamaica, Advisory Communication Committee of the Baptist World Alliance, Chairman of the Human and Spiritual Committee and President Elect at the Kiwanis for Young Professionals Western Jamaica.

As a motivational speaker, Santana has gained experience locally regionally and internationally, having addressed conferences in Jamaica, San Andres Island, Haiti and Barbados. She has had the honour of appearing on both local and international media to share her story and providing information about her brain child - Jamaica Intensive Reading Clinic.

Her outstanding and phenomenal contribution to nation building through a wide range of initiatives did not go un-noticed. Consequently, she is a recipient of the Governor General's Achievement Award for Achievement in Leadership, 30 under thirty emerging leader's award issued in Washington DC, and an I Believe Initiative Ambassador.
