Simone Green

"Knowing that I had been able to make a positive difference is my daily inspiration"


Miss Green is the YEO for St. Catherine and she joined the team at NCYD in 2012. Miss Green has however been a part of the NCYD family for years, through her role in the National Secondary Students' Council as their National Treasurer in 2006/2007.

Miss Green attended the University of the West Indies where she successfully completed a Bachelors of Arts in History. Miss Green being dedicated to youth development, has a keen interest in : 

  • Youth Leadership and Student Governance
  • Healthy Sexual Lifestyle
  • Rural youth – agripreneurship

Since joining the NCYD team, Miss Green has assisted and spearheaded several project/activities, including:

  • Edgewater Community Health Fair
  • Old Harbour Youth Forum
  • Assisting with job placement for unattached youth in Portmore
  • Participated in Youth Policy consultation
  • Coordination of NSSC elections and installation ceremony 
  • Assist students with CAPE History, Sociology and Caribbean Studies

Her major projects to date have been Community sensitization through face to face interaction and the Spanish Town Empowerment Summer Camp.

Miss Green vows to continue to empower young people and give service to the young people of Jamaica.
